Rabies is a very serious disease spread by infected animals through bites or scratches. Although the risk of bumping into a rabid animal in Grand Erie is low, never approach wild or strangely acting animals.
If you’re exposed to rabies, wash the wound with soap and water and seek medical treatment immediately. Without prevention treatments, the rabies virus is almost always fatal. And remember to keep your pets and livestock vaccinated against rabies!
