WE champion the right of all people to live a healthy, safe, and thriving life – no matter who they are or where they come from.

WE ARE unshakeable in our commitment to being a trusted source for information, programs, services, and interventions that prevent disease and protect health. Our knowledgeable team works at every level–from advocacy to policy to community education – to help create an environment that protects everyone.

WE are a community-focused organization, genuinely caring for every person we serve. We earn trust daily by being responsive and authentic, and collaborate with partners openly and with mutual respect.

WE meet people where they are, listen actively, and partner with intention. After engaging with us, people feel informed, valued, and motivated to make positive choices for their health.

About us

Our programs and services focus on preventing illness and injury, supporting healthy living, and addressing the social and environmental factors that influence health. GEPH delivers programs in accordance with the Ontario Public Health Standards and operates under the authority of the Health Protection and Promotion Act.

Our organization is funded by the Ministry of Health and local municipalities and is governed by a Board of Health. As part of our accountability to the communities we serve, we regularly measure and report on our performance across key indicators.
