Preventive dental clinics
We offer two free preventive dental clinics for children and youth aged 0–17. These clinics provide dental screenings and preventive services to help maintain healthy smiles.
How this works
Call us to book an appointment at one of our dental clinics. If children are screened and do not have cavities requiring treatment by a dentist, they may qualify for the Healthy Smiles Ontario Preventive Services Only program, where they can receive free preventive care at our dental clinics.
If a child does have an obvious concern, they can enroll in the Healthy Smiles Ontario Emergency and Essential Services Stream and receive care at a dental office for six months.
At the visit, our dental team will make sure your child’s teeth are developing in a healthy way. They will:
- Screen for cavities and signs of tooth decay
- Check that teeth are developing in a healthy way
- Provide tips on how to keep your child’s mouth clean and cavity‑free
- Provide free fluoride treatment, cleaning, and sealants if needed
- Enroll your child in the Healthy Smiles Ontario Emergency and Essential Services Stream to have cavities fixed by a dentist
- Book your child back six months after their appointment so your child is regularly screened and receiving preventive services
