| Summary description of the IPAC lapse | Some reusable manicure and pedicure tools are not being cleaned and disinfected between use.Manufacturer instructions for cleaning and disinfection (e.g. contact time) are not being followed for reprocessing reusable tools.Reusable tools are not being dried between cleaning and disinfection, which dilutes the disinfectant with water from wet tools, decreasing its efficacy.Inconsistency in cleaning and disinfecting grater-style foot files. Some grater-style foot files are not disinfected.PHI observed dust build up on tools. The tools were observed to be used on a client.Nail salon did not maintain blood and bodily fluid documentation. There was no blood and bodily fluid response procedure in place at the time of inspection. |
